Will's parents discovered complications while his mother was pregnant, that Will would be born with Alagille Syndrome, a rare condition that can affect many organs throughout the body.
After being born, Will's heart became somewhat of a project. He has a very large hole and very small pulmonary arteries leading to each of his lungs. The large hole in his heart needs to be closed to give him a longer, healthier lifespan. However, that cannot be done until his pulmonary arteries are enlarged. Over the past 6 years, the doctors, nurses and support staff at Children's Hospital have helped his family through 3 Open Heart surgeries and 10 Cardiac Catherizations.
